Preethi Jayawardena

Chairman

Mr. Preethi Jayawardena is the Chairman of CAL Exports Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. He is also a non-Executive Director of CIC Holdings PLC and The Chairman of Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. He was the former deputy Chairman of Commercial Bank PLC and have served as non-Executive Director in a number of other listed and unlisted companies. He was also The Past Chairman of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors and the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries.He was a member of the Monetary Policy Consultative Committee of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and a past council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

He has served in Zambia Chartered Consolidated Copper Mines for 13 years in several senior positions including Head of Treasury. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.

Thushara Thomas

Managing Director

Mr. Thushara Thomas was appointed to Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd on 01st January 2020 as Chief Operating Officer & promoted as Joint Managing Director of the Company from 01st January 2021 & later appointed as the Managing Director of the Company with effect from 22nd May 2021. He is a Banker by profession who has more than 28 years of experience in the Banking field in various positions. He was the Head of the Bancassurance Unit of Commercial Bank from 2014 to 2020 before appointing to the Company. During his tenure at Bancassurance, he was able to achieve many milestones under his leadership. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (FIB) & holds an MBA (Merit) from Cardiff Metropolitan University, of United Kingdom. He is also a life member of the Association of Professional Bankers, a Graduate Member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID), an Ordinary member of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute (SLII) & obtained Diploma in Insurance, obtained a National Diploma in HRM, and an affiliate member of Chartered Institute of Personal Management (AFCIPM).

Krishan Thilakeratne

Director

Mr. Krishan Thilakaratne was appointed to the Board on 1st November 2010. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka (AIB) and joined the LOLC Group in 1995. He counts over nineteen years of experience in Banking, Credit, Leasing, Factoring and Branch Management.
He is the CEO of the Islamic Business Unit of Lanka ORIX Finance PLC. He has held the position of CEO of Lanka ORIX Factors Limited and CEO of Auto Finance of Lanka ORIX Leasing Company PLC previously.
He also serves on the Boards of Commercial Leasing & Finance Plc and Commercial Factors Limited.

Isuru Tillakawardana

Director

Mr Isuru Thilakawardena is presently heading the Human Resource Management function in Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC as the Group Chief HR Officer. He is a Director of Commercial Development Company PLC and Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd. Subsidiaries of Commercial Bank. Prior to joining the Bank He has held leadership positions in several leading organizations in Sri Lanka ranging from Manufacturing, Insurance as well as in the Colombo Stock Exchange . He is the past President of Association of HR Professionals. He holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura and a Degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Colombo. Recently he was recognised as one of the “50 Most Talented Global HR Leaders in the Asia” by the World HRD Congress at its sessions in Mumbai.

Nihal Weerapana

Director

Nihal Weerapana counts more than Thirty five (35) years of experience in the finance industry and is presently employed at LOLC Finance PLC as the Chief Recovery Officer. He has been holding various positions at Mercantile Credit Limited, Industrial Finance Limited & Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC prior to joining LOLC Finance PLC He holds MSc in Management from University of Sri Jayawardhanapura and LLB (Honours) degree from the Buckinghamshire New University of UK. He has gained Post Graduate Diplomas in Corporate & Strategic Finance and Banking Management from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and The Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka respectively. He also secured Diploma in Micro Finance from The University of Colombo and a Diploma in Risk Management from The Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. Furthermore, he is an associate member of The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia (CMA) and The Chartered Institute of Marketing- UK (CIM-UK).

Delakshan Hettiarachchi

Director

Mr. Dilakshan Hettiarachchi – Appointed as Director of Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd., in October 2019, presently serves Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC., as Deputy General Manager Personal Banking, shouldering the overall responsibility of managing entire branch network.The overall management of SME Banking (Small Medium sized Enterprise) business and the business operations of Bancassurance is yet another of the many tasks Mr. Hettiarchchi has been assigned with by Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC.The years of experience in the Banking Sector has crowned him with knowledge in all areas of Finance Management uplifting him to take the high seat of Director of CBC Myanmar Microfinance Co. Ltd., a fully owned subsidiary of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC., managing the Overseas Operations and expanding its business growth

Prasanna Indrajith

Director

Mr. Prasanna Indrajith – was appointed as a Director of Commercial Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd., on September 07th, 2020. He presently serves as the Assistant General Manager – Finance at Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC., and has over 27 years post qualification experience in Finance related fields including 25 years working experience in the Bank.
He is a fellow of the CA Sri Lanka, ACCA (UK), CMA (Sri Lanka) and an associate of the IBSL. He also holds second class upper division degree in BSc Business Administration (Special) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Financial Administration from the CA Sri Lanka.
He also serves as the Company Secretary of Commercial Development Company PLC, which is a subsidiary of Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC.
